As the school was over, I didn’t want to stay at home and do nothing. I heard about IWC through Instagram. When I first saw the initiative they were doing, I was like why not try it, it allows me to get more volunteer hours, and also help others. During this pandemic, mental health was a key thing to keep check on for me. As times were rough, and it was just staying at home, to keep my mental health in check some things I did that you could also do are:
Express your feelings/opinions towards someone
∙ Whether it be how you are feeling about the pandemic or even global issues that are happening in the world or our community
Do something that is relaxing and enjoying
∙ Baking, drawing, listening to music, dancing, etc
Take care of your body
∙ Exercise, eating healthy, drinking water, and getting enough sleep
If you are ever in need of help there are many contacts you could contact. One example is the Kids Help Phone: https://kidshelpphone.ca
